“If She Can Do It, So Can I”: The Power of the Right Room

“If She Can Do It, So Can I”: The Power of the Right Room

There’s something transformative about being in the right room, where you’re not just seen but truly understood. For women professionals and entrepreneurs, this isn’t just about networking or swapping business cards. It’s about finding spaces where genuine connection replaces competition and where community becomes a catalyst for clarity, confidence, and courage.

At EM/POWEREDbyWMN, we recently gathered some of our members for a boat day—a chance to slow down, step away from the everyday hustle, and pour into one another. The women aboard came from different industries, cultures, and walks of life. Some were seasoned founders; others were just starting to navigate the business world. And yet, as the boat moved through the water, so did the conversation—fluid, open, real.

One of the most powerful takeaways from that day? That community isn’t just about like-mindedness in the traditional sense. It’s not just about surrounding yourself with people who think exactly like you or share the same strategies or goals. It’s about aligning with people who value growth, respect differences, and celebrate evolution.

Because when you lean into a truly diverse room—diverse in thought, upbringing, culture, and business strategy—you stop feeling like the “only one” and start recognizing the patterns, lessons, and magic that connect us all.

So often, as women, we carry silent assumptions. We scroll through polished Instagram grids, see women speaking on panels or launching new offers, and convince ourselves, She must have it all figured out. We spiral into comparison, forgetting that behind every curated photo is a woman with her own doubts, detours, and daily decisions.

But when you sit across from her—in person, in a safe space—and hear her story firsthand, everything shifts. You begin to realize she’s not lucky. She’s intentional. She’s scared sometimes, just like you. And she’s doing it anyway.

That’s the power of authentic community. It dissolves false narratives and builds something far more powerful: perspective.

You remember that trusting your intuition is a skill worth sharpening, not silencing. That decision-making isn’t about always being right—it’s about believing you’re capable of handling what comes next. Cultivating your own business mindset means embracing your pace, your values, and your version of success. And when you’re surrounded by women who are doing the same—sometimes boldly, sometimes quietly—you find your footing faster. You speak more freely. You stretch a little further. You stop trying to be “her” and start stepping more fully into you.

So if you’ve been craving clarity, courage, or confidence, look around. Who are you putting yourself in community with? Are they expanding you or exhausting you?

The right room doesn’t just change your business—it changes you.

And at EM/POWEREDbyWMN, we’re committed to building those rooms. Rooms where your voice matters, your journey is honored, and your presence is powerful.

Because if she can do it, so can you. And we’re here to remind you—every step of the way.

We asked some of the women from the EM/POWEREDbyWMN community, “What’s one ritual, practice, or pivotal moment that significantly boosted your confidence as a business owner—and how did it change the way you show up?” This is what they said…

Ritual of Transformation: Meditation as My Daily Anchor

A pivotal moment that significantly boosted my confidence as a business owner came from establishing my morning meditation ritual. Each day, I start with 25 to 60 minutes of Dr. Joe Dispenza’s guided meditations, immersing myself in elevated emotions like love, gratitude, and joy. This practice transforms my attitude and sets a positive tone for the day ahead.

Incorporating meditation into my midday routine and during my daily walks of 10,000 steps enhances my focus and intentionality. This commitment has profoundly impacted my confidence as a coach and entrepreneur, reinforcing my belief that my passion for helping women create transformative changes is my calling.

Coming from a religious family and with a degree in engineering, I was raised to chase goals. Through meditation, I’ve learned to attract rather than chase, realizing that the most important work is the internal work we do. This shift allows me to show up authentically and confidently, with a heart full of love for the women I serve.

– Carolline Day, Founder of Safe Day to Change

One of the most transformative actions that boosted my confidence as an online coach was leading in-person workshops and day retreats. Before hosting live events, I had primarily built my business online through content, virtual calls, emails, and newsletters. But stepping into a live, intimate space shifted everything. Watching women show up, trust my guidance, form meaningful connections, and walk away transformed gave me tangible proof that my voice, frameworks, and lived experience carried real value.

Repeating that process helped me release imposter syndrome and ignited a passion to teach this model to other online coaches. I’ve learned that true confidence comes from being prepared and having a clear plan while also trusting myself to lead with heart, not just strategy.

Since then, I’ve committed to building more live connection points through coaching, day retreats, and community-led workshops. To stay grounded and confident, I regularly do script-free run-throughs of my content, trusting what I know rather than rehearsing every word. I also set a weekly visibility intention: going live, starting genuine conversations, or showing up on social media in playful, real-life ways.

The power lies in the practice—movement, not overthinking, that builds confidence.

– Nikki Frechette, Mind-Body Business Coach & Workshop Strategist

One of the most pivotal practices that has helped me build confidence is intentionally putting myself in spaces that stretch me. Every time I’ve said yes to an opportunity before I felt “fully ready,” I’ve been reminded that courage comes from action, not certainty. Confidence, for me, hasn’t come from perfect preparation—it’s come from choosing to show up anyway.

Over the years, I’ve made it a point to seek out experiences that push my boundaries, from speaking engagements to hosting community events to sitting at tables that once felt out of reach. And every single time, I’ve walked away with a deeper trust in myself and a renewed reminder of my own strength.

Too many people wait to feel confident before they move. But I’ve learned that forward movement is what builds confidence. The ones who stay stagnant often aren’t lacking talent—they’re just waiting for the “right” moment instead of creating it.

Today, I show up with that lived belief: that growth happens at the edge of discomfort. I lead by doing. I make space for others to rise by continuing to rise myself. And I remind the women around me that ready is a mindset you step into, not wait for.

One pivotal moment that completely shifted my confidence as a business owner was the day I left my teaching career to pursue Lynnique full-time. I had spent years earning a Master’s degree and six teaching certificates, so walking away from that felt wild. But after my daughter was born, I looked at her and knew deep in my gut that I had to build something she could be proud of.

That decision changed everything. It was no longer a side hustle or just “something I do”—it became the thing. From that moment on, I started showing up with intention. I made bolder decisions, trusted my instincts more, and stopped shrinking in spaces that weren’t made for me. The confidence didn’t come from instant success—it came from choosing myself, even when it scared me.
