Stepping Into the Final Quarter with Power, Purpose & Bold Self-Leadership
A fierce, wholehearted guide to reclaiming your energy, rewriting your narrative, and using the September reset as a radical act of self-alignment.
A SEASON OF TRUTH-TELLING
As August faded, the warm ease of summer had softened, and you may feel a bit of a jolt—a tug between nostalgia and urgency, relaxation and pressure. And for many, the days surrounding Labor Day hit like an emotional checkpoint: Where am I? What do I want? What needs to change?
But the end of the season is not meant to pressure you into a corner. It’s actually meant to encourage you to rise! But, it’s common to struggle…
THE END-OF-SUMMER BLUES
If you’re feeling off as summer ends, you’re not alone.
This emotional dip often stems from:
- Reduced daylight affecting mood chemistry
- The disappointment of unmet summer expectations
- A drop in social spontaneity
- Shifting routines
- Internal pressures to “finish strong.”
Summer stretched us into the light, beautifully balancing emotional unwinding with vacation adventures. When this rhythm shifts, it’s natural to experience:
- A pull from the freedom back into structure
- A drop in momentum
- A sense of emotional vulnerability
- A craving for clarity
- A fear that you “should be further along.”
But here’s the reframe: Your discomfort is information, spitting out data to you, too important to ignore. It’s pointing you toward what needs attention, nourishment, and change. Feeling this shift means you’re paying attention to your life. And that’s a good thing.
WHY THE FIRST TUESDAY AFTER LABOR DAY MEANS SO MUCH
This Tuesday in the calendar, an otherwise unnoticeable day of the week for the rest of the year, carries weight — It signals movement, responsibility, and focus.
In fact, in my work as a psychotherapist, I see September as one of the most potent times of the year, a very close third to New Year’s and birthdays—a built-in invitation to step up into your power. Not to push harder, but to lean into intention, clarity, and courage.
For many, it triggers the following:
- Activation—Your Nervous System is Literally Rebooting: Your body prepares for a different pace.
- Drive—Energy to Reorganize and Reclaim Control: Suddenly, you want clarity. Purpose. Agency.
- New-Beginning Energy — A Reset Without the Pressure of January ‘Resolutions’
This is your chance to lead yourself forward.
Harnessing this moment is indeed a power move.

A BOLD REFRAME FOR THE FINAL QUARTER OF THE YEAR
Instead of racing to December 31, imagine using the Autumn as your season of alignment—the time you choose:
- What matters
- What goes
- What grows
- What ends
- What begins
September–December can be transformational when you treat it as a time to define your direction!
Here are some Ideas:
LAND WITH INTENTION
Give yourself the internal permission to arrive exactly as you are.
Daily power practice:
Use Radical Acceptance as a tool. Have the bold courage of accepting the truth, YOUR truth.
What have you done so far this year, and what haven’t you?
What strengths did you use in your mental marketing strategy to sell something important to yourself:
For example:
CLAIM YOUR NARRATIVE FOR THE FOURTH QUARTER
You are not obligated to finish the year the way you started it. In fact, one of the boldest decisions you can make is to rewrite the story you tell yourself about who you are and who you want to be.
Ask yourself:
- What am I doing when it works better for me?
- How does that feel?
- Where did I learn to do that?
- What am I doing when I get in my own way?
- How does that feel?
- Where did I learn to do that?
Let the answers to these create the REAL story:
How would I give more ‘air time’ to my healthy self by acting with assertiveness, confidence, balance, and emotional intelligence? Zero in on ONE step.
What would I need to let go of, release, reframe, and depersonalize from my past to heal that deeper part of me that keeps giving me ‘tantrums’ and sucking me into self-sabotage? Again, Zero in on ONE piece to rewrite.
Use this moment to articulate what you want the last quarter of the year to stand for.
Shape your narrative intentionally. The final months of the year are not a countdown — they are a canvas.
FINAL WORD — STEP INTO YOUR POWER SEASON
The end of summer isn’t a closing. It’s a threshold.
You are not behind — you are awakening.
You are not losing momentum — you are choosing direction.
You are not starting over—you are stepping forward.
This September, let your reset be bold.
Let it be intentional.
Let it be yours.
The life you want in this last quarter isn’t created by force — it’s created by alignment.
And alignment begins with one courageous decision:
I will lead myself from a place of higher awareness and clearer accountability that takes the knowledge into real time.

“Growth is not measured by intention—it is revealed in what you are willing to face, take responsibility for, and change.”
