The Divine Time Out: When Your Body Forces You to Listen
There are moments in life when we receive messages we don’t want to hear.
Subtle nudges. Quiet warnings. There’s a subtle nudge telling you to slow down. Rest. This isn’t right.
We ignore them. We hide in the unconscious.
We push harder. Grind longer. Override the exhaustion. Silence the intuition.
And then something happens.
You get sick.
Your back goes out.
You sprain an ankle.
You land in a hospital bed surrounded by beeping machines.
A Divine time out.
The question is never why me?
The question is: What was I unwilling to see?
Do you evaluate what landed you there?
Do you reassess your relationships?
Your work?
Your priorities?
The subtle cues you dismissed?
Or do you scroll your phone and wait for the symptoms to pass so you can resume the same unsustainable pace?
Stress: The Modern Epidemic
We often ask what makes us sick. While many factors contribute to illness, chronic stress remains one of the most corrosive forces affecting our mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
Most of us live in some variation of fight, flight, freeze, or fawn.
A text from someone who drains your energy.
An email from your boss with an edge of threat.
A family dynamic that keeps you bracing for impact.
The stock market dips, and you imagine your 401(k) nosediving.
Your business struggles with operational issues beyond your control.
The constant hum of global unrest.
Your nervous system doesn’t differentiate between a tiger in the wild and a tense boardroom meeting. It simply reacts.
Life is stressful. We can’t escape that.
But we can choose how we navigate it.

Listening to our Soul Intelligence
The antidote to chronic stress isn’t controlling the external world. It’s reconnecting to your inner one.
Soul Intelligence is that inner knowing—the intuitive guidance system that nudges you toward alignment. It speaks in sensations, emotions, subtle resistance, and unexpected clarity.
But we override it with “should.”
I should go, even though I don’t really want to…
I should say yes, just because they asked me to…
I should help, even though I’m exhausted…
I should stay, in spite of my body breaking down…
“Should” is an obligation dressed up as virtue. It is often rooted in guilt. And it leads directly to burnout.
When you consider doing something, ask yourself:
Does this make me feel expansive, and is it a resounding, absolute yes?
If it’s not a solid “I want to” or “I’m excited to” or “I feel aligned,” your body is already telling you something important. The body is the barometer of the subconscious. It always tells you what is aligned—and what is not.
The question is—are you listening?
When the Body Speaks Louder
Sometimes the body whispers.
A cold. Congestion. A kink in your neck. You blame your pillow. But what if the body is reflecting inner conflict or inflexibility?
Other times, the message is impossible to ignore.
Chest pain. Numbness down your arm. Shortness of breath. Your heart is racing.
You find yourself in a hospital bed, wondering how you got there.
I did.
Doctors called it a “heart event.” Not quite a heart attack. Not anxiety. Not a panic attack. Something in between.
But energetically?
It was a blockage of the heart. I was blocking love, feeling all of my needs were rejected. I ran away to work.
And it resulted in high blood pressure, which was all of my seething inside, hurt, sacred rage, feeling too much pressure, and pushing past my limits. Trying to please my spouse to get love, attention, and praise with too many demands on me.
At the time, I was in a loveless marriage. I felt invisible. Unsupported.
Financially over-responsible. Emotionally depleted. I had abandoned myself in the name of keeping the peace.
I over-functioned in every capacity.
I suppressed my needs.
I told myself I could handle it.
My body disagreed.
That hospital stay was not random. It was a forced reckoning.
Yet even then, I didn’t fully listen. I stayed in that unbalanced, unhealthy relationship for three more years.
It took another crisis to finally wake me up.
The Wake-Up Call I Couldn’t Ignore
A glaucomic cyclic crisis sent the pressure in my left eye to 39—more than double normal levels. Glaucoma threatens blindness. I literally did not want to “see” my life the way it was at the time.
Soon after, my back went out. My entire world felt like it was coming out from under me. Then my hip shifted out of joint. My one outlet—tennis—became impossible. In over twenty years of playing, I had never retired from a match. That day, I couldn’t walk.
Symbolically, the messages were undeniable.
I felt unsupported.
Overburdened.
Unseen.
Unacknowledged.
My body was screaming what my intuition had been whispering for years:
Enough.
When I finally left that marriage, healing began—not just emotionally, but physically.

Don’t Wait for a Divine Time Out
The body will always bring you back to truth.
The real question is whether you will act before it has to escalate.
Act on your intuition.
Make the difficult decision.
Prioritize your well-being without apology.
Loving others does not mean abandoning yourself.
In fact, the more fulfilled and regulated you are, the more capacity you have to genuinely show up for those around you. When you are depleted, you have nothing left to give.
Stress doesn’t just live in the mind. It embeds in the tissues. It lodges in the nervous system. It shapes belief systems that keep you stuck in unsupportive relationships and unsustainable patterns.
Until you clear it.
Healing at the Energetic Root
Clearing stress is not just about mindset. It’s about energetics.
When destructive beliefs, suppressed emotions, and chronic stress responses remain in the body, they create dis-ease, dissonance, and dysfunction.
The Soul Intelligence Method works at this deeper level.
Through bioenergetic adjustments, we help shift trapped emotional energy and outdated subconscious patterns out of the body before they manifest as physical symptoms or life crises.
It is not about bypassing reality.
It is about aligning with it.
