Crowning Glory… Reclaiming Your Power in Menopause & Beyond

Crowning Glory… Reclaiming Your Power in Menopause & Beyond – Let’s get one thing straight right from the start…

Menopause isn’t the end of your story… It’s the start of your comeback tour!

Yes, your hormones might be staging a Broadway-level drama behind the scenes (complete with hot flashes, surprise weeping, and a supporting cast of chin hairs), but Queen, this is your cue to step center stage. Welcome to your era of unapologetic power.

Look, you didn’t suddenly become powerful because you hit 50. That fire? It’s always been inside you. But like so many of us, you probably spent years either putting out or even fanning everyone else’s fires before tending to your own spark. Kids, partners, jobs, errands, and let’s not forget… the PTA bake sale you didn’t sign up for but somehow ended up running.

Menopause isn’t stealing your youth… It’s giving you back YOU.

According to the North American Menopause Society, the average age of menopause in the U.S. is 51, and women can now expect to live another 30+ years beyond that. Thirty years! That’s a whole second act.

So, what are you going to do with it? Get comfy sitting around waiting for something epic to happen OR …

Are you going to write that book, take that solo trip to Bali, start that business, or finally wear red lipstick just because it makes you feel like the #badass Boss you’ve always been?

One of the greatest gifts of menopause is freedom… biologically, emotionally, and energetically. You don’t need permission. Sister, we’re not asking anymore. We’re declaring!

In our younger years, we were conditioned to be pleasing, accommodating, and, let’s be honest, exhaustingly self-sacrificing. But the Queen version of you? She knows her worth. She orders the dessert FIRST, takes up space, unapologetically.

Menopause has a way of clearing out what no longer serves us, literally and figuratively. The frustrating hormonal shifts we experience in these years affect our brain chemistry, sometimes resulting in a “midlife wake-up call.” According to Harvard Health, these changes can trigger a powerful re-evaluation of priorities, helping women reconnect with their identity and purpose.

In simpler terms: This is not a crisis. It’s a clarifier… Not Too Late.

Never Too Late. Let’s tackle the big lie… “I’m too old.”

Girl, let me tell you something… You are NOT too old!

You’re too seasoned, too smart, and too sassy to keep sitting on the sidelines. Remember, Julia Child didn’t publish her first cookbook until she was 49. Vera Wang didn’t design her first dress until she was 40. Heck, Grandma Moses didn’t start painting until her 70s.

And you? You’ve got wisdom and Wi-Fi!

It’s not too late to do the thing you’ve been putting off because “the timing wasn’t right,” or “the kids needed me,” or “maybe next year.” Newsflash… there’s never a perfect time; the only time is now.

Want to start painting again? Grab a brush. Dreamed of learning Italian? Duolingo is free, my friend. Craving more passion, adventure, and purpose? Go get it. It’s not waiting for you; it’s waiting on you.

The Body Is Changing and So Are You… Let’s Celebrate This

Now, let’s not ignore the elephant in the room… our bodies are changing. Hormonal fluctuations can cause weight gain, brain fog, insomnia, and skin that suddenly has the texture of dry toast. Sound familiar?

But here’s the good news…

You are not broken. You are evolving. Yes, your jeans may be a little snug, but your voice is stronger. You might forget where you left your keys, but you remember who you are now, and that’s the kind of clarity no beauty hack can bottle.

Taking care of your body doesn’t have to mean punishing workouts and cauliflower everything. It means nourishing, moving, and loving this body that has carried you through so much. A balanced diet rich in phytoestrogens may even help ease some of your symptoms.

Sleep? Non-negotiable. Water? Drink it like your crown depends on it. And movement? Choose joy over punishment. Dance in the kitchen. Walk in the sunshine. Lift heavy things… not just weights, but the weight of your own dreams.

This chapter of life isn’t about slowing down. It’s about tuning in. You’ve done the giving, the proving, and the pleasing. Now it’s your time to live out loud. Laugh louder. Love deeper. Wear leopard print. Say no to anything that drains you and a “Hell yes” to everything that fills your soul. Being a Queen doesn’t mean you’re bossy, bitter, or tired. It means you’ve earned your throne, and you sit on it with grace and grit and wear a fabulous new lipstick shade!

So, here’s your permission slip, signed, sealed, and sparkly…

  • Do the thing.
  • Start the thing.
  • Be the thing.

Don’t wait for the timing to be perfect or for your confidence to catch up. Start before you feel ready. Live now. Live fully. Live like the Queen you’ve always been.

Because menopause isn’t the end; it’s the coronation.

“This article is a love letter to every woman who’s ever felt like she had to shrink to fit into a version of herself that served others but silenced her own dreams. Menopause isn’t the end—it’s the moment we get to step fully into our power, our purpose, and our unapologetic joy. I hope this inspires every reader to say yes to herself, maybe for the first time in a long time.” – Tonya Fines
