Have you ever walked into a room and felt the energy, the “mood”, shift? Maybe you have come across a situation that made you feel “off”. Or, maybe you have encountered an individual whose presence enlightened your demeanor. Chances are you have experienced one of these scenarios or something similar. What you experienced was someone else’s vibrational frequencies; the energy given off, which is often referred to as “vibes”.
We all have our own vibrational frequencies that are constantly shifting
These energies are internal frequencies that affect what we feel, what we seek, what we attract, and influence our overall level of wellness, both physically and mentally. In a perfect state of vibrational health, our material self (which is our personality, struggles, and us in the physical world) and our Higher self (the soul, or true self, & grand desires) are perfectly balanced; meaning the right amount of attention is given to both parts of ourselves.
Our vibrational frequencies are often influenced by worldly factors such as society, work, and situations that we encounter. Too often, when this happens, there is a greater focus on our material self and less on our Higher-self. Imbalances such as this often lead to stress-related illness, both physical and mental. This results in our negative vibes projecting onto those around us. It affects the vibrational frequencies of others.
We see this in the world right now
There is a constant struggle between peace and selfish desire; a downward spiral that we see playing out a society full of stress, anger, and conflict. We are constantly surrounded by the imbalance of other’s vibrational frequencies and the vibes we receive from others may influence our own energy. Due to our daily experiences in constant change, we must focus more on protecting our own energy and healing our energetic imbalances.
Your body is a latticework of energies.
~ Donna Eden
It is important for each individual to work towards a balance of their energies in order to achieve greater health and wellness. this is important not just for themselves, but also for those around them. This balance begins with self-care and many individuals turn to meditation, yoga, and Bach Flower Remedies as a way to restore balance, peace of mind, and improve wellness. However, there is another way to aid our vibrational health.
Essential oils can help restore balance
While essential oils are typically used for their therapeutic properties on the physical self, the beautiful aromas may also be used to aid in clarity, focus, and peace. Using aromatherapy may help balance the vibrational frequencies within us by providing a sense of purpose and grounding individuals.
Have you ever smelled an aroma and felt some piece of calmness or emotion come over you?
Aromatherapy allows us to “Heal Thy Self”, something Edward Bach claimed was crucial to healing our vibrational frequencies. Using the right essential oils allows us to become more in-tune with ourselves and we are able to understand the needs of our Higher self better. Ultimately, aromatherapy can aid in creating an environment for emotional and mental balance.
Healing must come from within ourselves, by acknowledging and correcting our faults, and harmonizing our being with the divine plan.
~ Edward Bach
Clarity, Calmness, & Positivity
These are the three things to strive for when using essential oils for energy balancing. Clarity provides an individual the ability to focus on the desires of their Higher self as well as their Soul’s purpose. Calmness allows an individual to manage stress properly and live in the moment. While positivity strengthens the mind and attracts more positivity and balance. All three of these, when balance is achieved, reduces strain on the physical self and allows for optimal growth.

*Petersen, Dorene. (2018). Energetic Modalities I: Flower Essences. American College of Healthcare Sciences. Portland, OR What I have found to work well for aromas that bring me peace, comfort, and a sense of grounding include Earthy notes. oils such as Basil, Fir Needle, Patchouli, Pine, Sandalwood, Vetiver, & Ylang Ylang. These are oils that consume me with a sense of calm and clarity; to which I combine more uplifting notes.
How can you find what essential oils aid in balancing your vibrational frequencies?
Since every individual is different, every individual may react to aromas differently. Healing is a process that requires self-awareness and choosing the right essential oils is important. To do this requires a calm space and focus, and I challenge you to take the time to complete this task! Take some time to deeply inhale each aroma that you own. Write down how each aroma makes you feel. Does this aroma consume your body? Does it clear your mind? Are any positive emotions or memories brought forth? Most of all, how does each oil make you feel? Keep in mind that over time what you need at any moment may change, requiring that you change the aromas that you use. Aromatherapy, when used properly, is an incredible medicine and aids the entire body, mind, and spirit in its healing journey.
